THE HEADQUARTERS OF RT. ROUND. MARK VAN KOEVERING, EIGHTH BISHOP OF THE EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF LEXINGTON, WILL BE ON JUNE 5, 2022LEXINGTON, KY: The Rt. Rev. Mark Van Koevering will be officially seated as the eighth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington in a ceremony at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, Ky., at 4:00 p.m., June 5, 2022. The investiture service and Appreciation for Bishop Van Koevering was originally scheduled to take place at Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington on Saturday, March 21, 2020, but unfortunately had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bishop Van Koevering was elected the eighth Bishop of Lexington in November 2018. Prior to his stay in Kentucky, the Bishop-elect served as Associate Bishop of the Diocese of West Virginia and Anglican Bishop of Niassa, Mozambique. Bishop Van Koevering is married to Reverend Canon Helen Van Koevering, Rector of St Raphael’s Episcopal Church in Lexington.

This joyful celebration will also include the collation of two Canons of the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington – Reverend Canon Amy Chambers Cortright, Canon Ordinary, and Reverend Canon George Iype Kovoor, Missionary Canon. A reception will follow immediately at the cathedral.
