Sixth day of novena before the feast of Saint-Laurent held at the church of Bondel

Mangaluru: The theme of the 6th day of the novena was “Forgiveness is the solution to family problems”.

The parish priest of Bajal Church, the Reverend Father Andrew D’Souza, was the main celebrant at the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Rev. Lancy D’Souza concelebrated the mass. In his sermon, Father Andrew D’Souza called on the faithful of Saint-Laurent and said: “Forgiveness is a vital part of Christianity because, without forgiveness, we would have no hope of reconciliation, of redemption from sin and hello. Forgiveness cannot be granted without giving. The word “give” is in the word forgive. We must put aside our pride and feelings to offer forgiveness and give grace. In every relationship, there are times when we are hurt or disappointed by the other person. When we decide to forgive, we say “I love you whatever you have done or said”. This commitment to the relationship is a choice and a decision to love.

There were three testimonies. The first testimony was that of a Mr. Anthony. He had lost his scholarship on the bus he used to come to the novena. After mass, he visited the miraculous statue and then made the sign of the cross. To his surprise, he found his purse in the same place he had left it on the bus. “I thank God and Saint-Laurent for this miracle,” Anthony said.

The second testimony was from Mrs. Monthin Telis of the parish of Hospet. She had suffered from a snakebite. “Doctors said there was no chance of survival, but I believe St. Lawrence touched me with his gentle loving touch and I am completely healed. Praise be to Jesus forever. I pray so that we can increase our faith by sharing this experience with others.

The third testimony is that of a Muslim brother who had difficulty speaking. “I prayed fervently through Saint-Laurent. It was a miracle that my speech became clear,” he said, “I believe that I obtained healing through the intercession of Saint Lawrence.

The choir was from the United Family under the direction of Cyprian Vas.

For the 5:30 p.m. mass, the Rev. Father Santhosh Rodrigues, Director of the Pastoral Center, was the main celebrant. The Rev. Father Peter Gonsalves and the Rev. Father Melwin Pinto MSIJ concelebrated Mass. The choir was from the Blue Angels Choir.

Special prayers were offered for those who have lived separated from the unity of their families.
