Macon, GA – Theodore “Mr. Ted” Gidean Brinson “17.5”, 59, of Macon, GA, passed away on December 26, 2021. Family will receive friends on Friday January 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Snow’s Memorial Chapel-Pio Nono Ave. and Saturday January 8, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (following service at church). A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 8, 2022 at Harvest Cathedral Church, 2254 Rocky Creek Road at 11:00 a.m. with Adrienne Mayfield as officiant. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery, 3969 Mercer University Dr., Macon.
Ted was born on February 25, 1962 to the late Albert Brinson and Maddie Brinson Gilmore in Washington County, Georgia. He lived a happy and fruitful life and touched many lives during his journey. Theodore (Teddy) loved sports and was a true fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta Hawks. In his early years he played tennis and loved to train. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and was contributing to any cause that he thought would help someone. Theodore made a difference everywhere he went.
Teddy was married to Brenda Brinson for 17 years and from this union were born two beautiful children, Marnier and “Lil Ted”. Teddy graduated from Washington County High School. He received a Bachelor of Commerce from Morris Brown College and worked for many years as a Computer Systems Engineer for BellSouth Telecommunications. Later, due to his entrepreneurial spirit, he owned several businesses as a real estate investor. Teddy had worked for the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department since 2009.
Teddy was a loving and devoted husband, father, godfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was predeceased by his daughter, Marnier Brinson. He remains to be cherished in memory and to carry on his legacy: his wife, Brenda Brinson; daughter, Katherine Fitzhugh; son, Theodore “Teddy” G. Brinson Jr .; God of Children, Ricco Coleman, Nytest Pitts and Zackary V. Girtman; siblings, Johnnie Hickson, Carol Gray, Edith Ann Ellerbee, Adrena Cooper, Howard Brinson, Myrtice Scott and Mario Thornton; bonus siblings, Carol Jenkins and Silas Butler; Ariana Dadner; an extended family and his family from the Sheriff’s Department of Macon-Bibb.
