James A. Clabaugh Obituary – Evening Sun

James Anthony Clabaugh, 88, of Hanover, PA came into God’s eternal care on Saturday June 25, 2022. Born August 21, 1933 in Bonneauville, PA, he was the son of the late John M. and Anna A. (Sanders ) Clabaugh. James was the loving husband of Frances (Sneeringer) Clabaugh with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. James graduated in 1952 from Delone Catholic High School. He worked as a factory manager for Madison Square Furniture for 48 years until his retirement in 2004. James proudly served his country during the Korean conflict as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he also received the National Defense Service Medal. than the Good Conduct Medal. James was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Catholic War Veterans Post 1342, Bonneauville, Pennsylvania. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles football and Oakland A baseball fan. In addition to his wife Frances, James is survived by his children, Craig Clabaugh of Hanover, PA, Chad Clabaugh of York, PA, Maxine Hass of Palmyra, PA, and Maureen Shaffer of Hanover, PA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Anna Sneeringer. He was predeceased by his siblings, John Clabaugh, Guy Clabaugh, Frank Clabaugh, Bernard Clabaugh, Clarence Clabaugh, Mildred Bowling, Mary Selby, Helen Oaster, Joe Clabaugh and Bob Clabaugh. A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA, with Father Joseph Gotwalt officiating. A visitation will take place from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
