Free Vacation Events in the Milwaukee Area

In the spirit of Christmas, we can all enjoy a little holiday cheer that doesn’t require admission to attend. Here’s a look at the free vacation events in the Milwaukee area for December:

Brookfield Village: Tree lighting, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. December 2. Santa and reindeer, with hot chocolate and cookies to decorate for the children. Art-N-Soul Design Studio, 18720 Pleasant Street, Brookfield.

Grace Lutheran Church: Chant Claire concert, 5 p.m. Dec 3 Donation appreciated to support the artists. 1209 N. Broadway.

Christmas in the parish: Tree lighting ceremony in Milwaukee’s Third Historic District, 5:30 p.m. December 3. Enjoy music, live reindeer, hot chocolate, photos with Santa Claus, and a winter fireworks display over the river. Catalano Square, 138 N. Broadway.

Christmas on KK: Tree lighting, 5.30 p.m. Dec 3 Opening ceremony with music by the children’s choir. Zillman Park, 2180 S. Kinnickinnic Avenue.

Tosa village: Tree lighting, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3 7603 W. State St., Wauwatosa.

Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church: Live open-air day nursery, 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. on December 3; 4:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. December 4. Watch the animals in the nursery live, taste cookies, coffee and cocoa, with musical performances by the church and the school family. 1941 Madison Street, Waukesha.

Hales Corners Library: Village tree lighting ceremony, 6 p.m. on December 4. Holiday music, with the arrival of Santa Claus in a fire truck. Parking lot, 5885 S. 116th St., Hales Corners.

New Berlin Historical Park Museum: Kids Holiday Fest, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on December 5. Free event. Creations of ornaments / jewelry for children, storytelling, visit with Santa Claus from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. BYO flashlight for walks in the park, with hot chocolate and cookies. 19885 avenue nationale W. Village of the old fall: Visit the Miller Davidson House, noon to 4 p.m. on December 5. Enjoy a free cookie and drink in the decorated dining room. The corners of Brookfield: Chanukah celebration with a cane menorah, 4 p.m. December 5, 20111 W. Blue Mound Road, Brookfield.

Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist: Advent lessons and songs presented by the Cathedral Choir and the Cathedral Women’s Choir, 5.15 pm December 5. A voluntary donation for the benefit of the cathedral’s ministry of music and fine arts is requested. 812 N. Jackson St.

Tree lighting with bay view: December 6. Songs from the St. Thomas More High School Choir begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a song for children and families, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus arriving at 7:00 p.m. to light the tree. Hot food and drinks will be served. Meet in the west parking lot of Immaculate Conception Church, 1023 E. Russell Ave.

Milwaukee Garden District: Lighting of the tree with Christmas carols by local schools, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. December 7. Visit with Santa Claus, and free cookies and hot chocolate, while supplies last. Farmer’s Market and Gardens at West Norwich Avenue and South Sixth Street.

Jackson Park Lutheran Church: Live open-air day nursery, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. December 11. The characters and stable animals will gather in a manger outside the church, with Christmas music and a retelling of the Christmas story from Luke’s chapter. Hot meals and drinks will be offered outside. 4535 West Oklahoma Ave.

Cocoa with the clauses: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 11. Santa and Mrs. Claus return for an annual outdoor event for the kids to share their wish lists and for moms and dads to snap a souvenir photo. Bring your own camera. Cathedral Square Park, 520 E. Wells St.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co.: Merry + Bright Holiday Market, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm December 12th. The first 50 entrants will receive a sample of one of Anodyne’s signature holiday coffee blends.
