APC supports Governor Akeredolu’s CCTV command

Ondo’s All Progressive Congress (APC) said all operators and owners of public facilities in the state should install CCTV cameras on their premises.

The call followed a precedent set by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to help tackle crime across the state.

Ade Adetimehin, chairman of the APC in Ondo, said so in a message from Sallah to Muslims on Sunday in Akure. He assured Ondo residents that Mr. Akeredolu was committed to protecting lives and property.

“Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s government remains resolute on the issue of security in the state and will redouble its efforts to provide adequate security to the citizens of the state,” he explained. “This is despite the recent hiccup in our security system which resulted in the loss of several lives during the attack on Owo. We ask our fellow citizens to be their brothers’ keepers during this festive time by signaling to the order suspicious individuals and the criminal activity they observe around them.

He added: “As we wish all Muslims in Ondo State a happy Eid-Al Kabir celebration. We urge everyone to strictly observe law and order and remain peaceful while throughout the celebration of the holidays.

The President asked Muslims to continue to live in peace, to love each other as exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad as they celebrated Eid-al-Kabir in the state.
