A Marshalltown native will perform with the SDSU Concert Choir | News, Sports, Jobs


BROOKINGS, SD — The South Dakota State University Concert Choir will kick off their fall tour, “All Creation Sings,” with 11 total performances beginning Sunday in Sioux Falls and culminating at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 with a home concert at the Oscar Larson Center for the Performing Arts.

Marshalltown native Aaron Seberger will perform as part of the tour.

The choir, under the direction of Laura Diddle, will perform music that celebrates creation in all its forms at venues across South Dakota and Iowa over the next week.

The choir’s first three performances are in Sioux Falls, beginning with a Sunday concert at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Sioux Falls.

“The Concert Choir is honored to be invited to sing in the Sacred Arts Series at St. Joseph’s Cathedral,” said Diddle, Paul E. and Doris J. Moriarty Choral Activities Teacher.

Monday begins with a morning performance at Lincoln High School and an afternoon performance at O’Gorman High School. Next, the choir heads to Iowa for a concert Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Epiphany Cathedral in Sioux City.

On Tuesday, the choir has morning performances at East High School in Sioux City and Maple Valley-Anthon Oto School in Mapleton, followed by a 7:30 p.m. concert at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Osceola.

Wednesday brings the choir to a morning performance at Clarke Community Schools in Osceola and an afternoon performance at Yankton High School. The singers’ day ends with a concert at 7 p.m. at Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp.

Finally, the choir is back in Brookings for a 7:30 p.m. concert on November 4 at the Larson Memorial Concert Hall on the SDSU campus.

No admission will be charged to any concert.

The 70-member concert choir serves as the ambassador choral ensemble of SDSU’s music department. Composed of the finest and most talented singers in SDSU, membership in the choir is dependent on excellence in musicianship, vocal artistry, and dedication.
